When I began my career in dermatology at the age of 17, I quickly realized that skin care is never one-size-fits-all. Every client has unique concerns, goals, and life experiences, which means there is always something new to learn.

That realization shaped my career. Throughout more than 37 years in the skin care industry, I have remained committed to continuing education—not to collect certificates, but to better serve the people who trust me with their skin. Every class, conference, certification, and mentor has contributed to the knowledge and experience I bring to each personalized treatment.

From my early years working alongside renowned dermatologist Dr. James E. Fulton, co-developer of Retin-A®, to advanced studies in cosmetic chemistry, ingredient science, corrective skin care, facial technologies, and product formulation, I have embraced every opportunity to grow professionally.

The skin care industry continues to evolve, and so do I. My commitment to lifelong learning allows me to combine proven techniques with emerging innovations, ensuring that every recommendation and treatment reflects both experience and the latest advances in professional skin care.

Dermatology & Clinical Foundation

My professional journey began in dermatology at the age of 17, where I was introduced to the science of healthy skin and the importance of individualized patient care. Working in a clinical setting taught me that successful skin care is built on careful observation, education, and understanding the unique needs of every individual.

During those early years, I had the privilege of working with Dr. James E. Fulton, renowned dermatologist and co-developer of Retin-A®. His commitment to research, innovation, and evidence-based skin care helped shape my understanding of acne, corrective treatments, and the science behind healthy skin.

The knowledge and experience I gained in dermatology became the foundation for everything that followed. While my career eventually expanded into the spa industry and, later, the founding of Personalized Skin Care in 1993, I have always carried those clinical principles with me.

Today, my approach combines the precision of clinical skin care with the personalized experience of a relaxing spa environment—creating treatments that are both results-driven and individually tailored for every client.

Continuing Education

Continuing education has been one of the guiding principles of my career. The science of skin care is constantly evolving, and I believe my clients deserve treatments based on current research, proven techniques, and professional expertise—not outdated information.

Throughout my career, I have pursued advanced education through accredited programs, professional organizations, industry leaders, and hands-on training. My studies have expanded far beyond traditional esthetics to include cosmetic chemistry, ingredient science, dermatology, corrective skin care, facial technologies, product formulation, business development, and emerging treatment innovations.

Every course, certification, and educational experience has strengthened my ability to assess each client’s unique skin concerns and create personalized treatment plans that are both safe and effective. My goal has never been to collect certificates, but to continually expand my knowledge so I can provide the highest level of professional care.

The skin care industry continues to evolve rapidly with new technologies, ingredients, treatment methods, and wellness approaches emerging every year. I strongly believe that continued education is essential in order to provide clients with safe, effective, and results-driven treatments.

Throughout my career, I have remained committed to ongoing advanced education in corrective skin care, acne treatments, anti-aging therapies, Korean-inspired skin wellness, facial technologies, product ingredients, and skin barrier health.

My goal is to combine experience with continued learning so that every client receives customized treatments designed for their individual skin concerns, comfort level, and long-term skin wellness goals.

I believe education is one of the most powerful tools an esthetician can offer — not only for professional growth, but also for helping clients feel confident and informed about their skin care journey.

East Meets West Skin Care Philosophy

At Personalized Skin Care, my approach combines the best of both worlds — advanced U.S. corrective skin care technologies with Korean-inspired skin wellness philosophies focused on hydration, prevention, glow, and long-term skin health.

Western skin care often emphasizes corrective treatments such as exfoliation, resurfacing, peptides, microneedling, LED therapy, and advanced technologies designed to improve visible skin concerns. Korean skin wellness, on the other hand, focuses heavily on prevention, hydration, skin barrier protection, circulation, calming inflammation, and achieving healthy radiant skin over time.

By blending these philosophies together, I am able to create customized facial experiences that support both visible skin improvement and overall skin wellness.

My treatments are designed not only to improve how the skin looks today, but also to help strengthen and support the skin long-term through balance, consistency, education, and personalized care.

This balanced approach allows treatments to remain results-driven while still nurturing and respecting the skin’s natural barrier and overall health.
