How it all started

Lorena started working in the skin care industry since High school years.  During the time, she helped as front office at an Acne clinic in La Habra. Dr James E. Fulton, Dermatologist,  was world renown as co founder of Retina.  He founded the Acne Clinic that helped many patients with their Skin.  After closing, Lorena moved to work a Spa in Brea called About Face that focused on relaxing facials.  Since then Lorena has brought her knowledge of the Medical field in skin care and Spa together to meet both corrective skin care needs and in a spa atmosphere.

Philosophy

Lorena has applied heart and soul to develop the latest and the greatest in skin care for home care. Despite the many challenges of the choices, PSC solution, aka personalized skin care solution meets the needs of women, men and  teenagers today.   Assessing or using the right skin care depends the a person’s Skin type and condition and can be is a constant mystery. Not to mention it can all an change with the weather, stress or lifestyle.  Lorena’s facial are forever changing as new modalities develop and new ingredients surface every year. The facial on each individual and customized  the the person’s needs.  PSC’s provides the latest technology for the maximum results.  One said ” They are the Hollywood’s celebrity facial on steroids” for a fraction of the Beverly Hills cost.

Why go to professional for your skin?

Skin  home care and facial care may seem easy to do, until the skin has a reaction.  Side effects include peeling, rash like reaction, acne flare up or post break out, Hyper pigmentation and burns. Although the Esthetician does not have a crystal ball nor is she/he a magician, a professional has studied the skin types and condition to suit the person’s skin care and treatments needs. As an Esthetician for over  30 years, I have  had many challenges in choosing the right professional product and home care.  A lot has been trial and error.  Not to mention the expense of wasted money on products that don’t work.  Chemical peels alone can be appropriate for some skin and devastating to other types of skin.  Watching youtube videos or googling can help bring you knowledge but can also give you inaccurate information.  At the end you spend money that maybe was not necessary.

How do I choose the right facial for my skin?

There are two types of facials.  A Therapeutic facial can fall under medical, clinical or corrective type of facial.  Usually it is faster paced, less relaxing and can sometimes hurt if the person has acne and needs extraction. It can burn due the chemical peel exfoliation for new skin.  Microdermabrasion can hurt because it feels like the skin is “sandblasted” There can also possibly be a break out if the skin has lots of blackheads and white heads. A facial can purge the clogged pores.  These facial places are usually smaller and more quaint facility.   Whereas a spa facial is focused and relaxing the face with massage and aromatherapy oils.  It has very little deep exfoliation, less skin analysis but it feeds the spirit &soul.  The facility is usually much bigger, has locker room, sauna and a place to lounge. Here at PSC we do provide massages and have a spa like environment but without the big facility.
